Akiko Burns

Born to a Japanese tech executive father and Mexican environmental scientist mother, Akiko grew up between two worlds, developing a unique perspective on both cultural heritage and environmental stewardship. After completing her Master's in Sustainable Technology at MIT and burning out in Silicon Valley, she found healing through solo travel to high-altitude plateaus, where the stark landscapes and traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous communities inspired her to launch a consulting business that bridges technology and environmental conservation. Her blog began as field notes from these journeys but evolved into a platform advocating for mindful travel to fragile ecosystems and showcasing how technology can either harm or heal our relationship with the natural world.
