After spending her youth as a competitive swimmer on Australia's Gold Coast, Harper discovered her passion for cultural preservation while backpacking through Southeast Asia in her twenties. A chance encounter with a master batik artist in Indonesia changed her life trajectory, leading her to pursue a master's in education with a focus on preserving traditional knowledge.
