Kenji's journey as a travel blogger began when he documented a three-month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia after burning out at his corporate web development job in Sydney. The son of a Japanese father and Australian mother, he grew up navigating cultural differences and developed a fascination with how history shapes modern spaces. After his travel blog gained traction, he transitioned to freelance web development to support a location-independent lifestyle, eventually settling in Austin with his partner and two children while maintaining his global adventures.
