Leila's passion for cultural immersion began when she spent a gap year in her father's homeland of Japan after high school, discovering her heritage through language. This experience shaped her academic path in linguistics and eventually led to her creating content that bridges cultural understanding through language learning. Now based in New Zealand with her partner and three cats, she uses academic breaks to document linguistic diversity and wellness traditions around the world, believing that learning even a few words in a local language transforms the travel experience.
