Reese Ramirez

After burning out from a decade-long career in commercial art direction in London, Reese reconnected with her Filipino heritage through cooking classes during a sabbatical in Southeast Asia. This journey awakened memories of childhood train trips with her British father and Filipino mother, inspiring her to document disappearing transportation traditions and their connection to local cultures. She relocated to Omaha for its central location and affordable artist community, using it as a base while building a unique niche at the intersection of transportation history, culinary traditions, and cultural preservation.
